Mark Westbrook, Creative Director, owner and founder of the Westbrook Hair Salon. An ex-fashion graduate, Mark began his career at a top London salon – ‘Schumi’ in Knightsbridge. After working with Toni & Guy and Hair Associates in London, Mark opened ‘Westbrook’ in Kew in 1995.

In 2000 Mark met and then collaborated with the renowned John Sahag of New York (now deceased) to become his European Art Director. ‘Hairstylist to the stars’, Sahag created the ‘Rachel’ cut for Jennifer Aniston, as well as Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Pitt. Sahag developed a radical new dry hair cutting technique ‘Dry Carving’ – and after meeting a like-minded soul, entrusted Mark to continue his vision and philosophy in Europe. Mark is an expert in this technique and continues to teach ‘Dry Carving’ to his own team as well as internationally in the US and Asia.

Mark is highly adept about understanding his client’s needs, and after an initial consultation will create a style best suited to their individual style. His expertise lies with classic and contemporary hair styling, using the ‘Dry Carving’ cutting technique. He has produced a huge variety of editorial work for fashion magazines and the music industry. Mark is also an educator, frequently presenting at hair exhibitions and events.
